2008 Corvette Weekly Ordering Constraints

What a difference a week makes!  This week we see four of the previously constrained options lifted on the 2008 Corvette.  As always, we at CorvetteBlog have the latest constraints straight from General Motors.  2008 Corvettes that are ordered this week have a Target Production Period (TPP) of September 3-9, 2007.

If you’re looking to order a new 2008 Corvette, make sure you pay attention to the following options which are currently either unavailable or in limited production, and updates from last week:

  • 1LT Package:  0 Available Nationally, Greater than 4 weeks of constraint based on a Supplier Material Restriction.

  • 4LT Package:  0 Available Nationally, Greater than 4 weeks of constraint based on a new option introduction (we are hearing September maybe before we’re able to order).
  • QX3 Chrome Wheels:  180 Available Nationally, Greater than 4 weeks of constraint based on Supplier Capacity Restrictions.  (up 20 units from last week)

  • QG7 Polished Wheels:  No Longer Constrained!
  • Z51 Performance Package:  No Longer Constrained!

  • 89U   Crystal Red:  No Longer Constrained!
  • F55 Magnetic Ride:  No Longer Constrained!

If you’re looking for a 2008 Corvette Z06, there’s only one constraint nationally:

  • 3LZ  Package:  0 Available Nationally, Greater than 4 weeks of constraint based on a new option introduction (we are hearing September maybe before we’re able to order).

If you’re looking to order a new 2008 Corvette or Z06, let us know by leaving a comment (kept private) or by giving us a call.  We have a great allocation waiting for you and are ordering vehicles this week!

  1. Jay Bender says:

I ordered a 2008 coupe with QX3 wheels. Dealer told me the plant was closed until July 24, and now says the QX3 wheels are constrained. When might I expect delivery of my new vette?

  2. Bill says:

The plant was closed for the annual two week vacation the first half of July, but now they are building these beauties as fast as possible!

The QX3 option is gradually becoming more available. We will be posting the latest news on constraints on Thursday (August 16), and we’re hoping there will be no constraint on those QX3 wheels.

Check back at Corvette Blog every Thursday (late afternoon, ET) for the latest news on constraints.

If QX3 comes off constraint this Thursday, your dealer should have that Corvette at his showroom in about another six-eight weeks.

  3. David Warren says:

Any ideas when a corvette might be delivered to my local dealer. The car was ordered on July 18.Constraints were 1LT package, changed to 2LT,QX3 wheels? Why do dealer allocated cars get preferance over sold orders.Looks to me like a corvette in my garage is worth more than two on a dealers lot.

  4. Ryan says:

If the local dealer that you purchased the vehicle through gave you an Order #, I’ll be glad to look it up for you and see where its at the production/delivery pipeline. This is something they should be updating you on regularly if they aren’t already, and a practice we regularly do here at CorvetteBlog.com

Either way though, we would be glad to help you as best we can. If you don’t have the order number, I’d contact them directly and ask for it or ask them to call the Dealer Business Center and figure out where your Vette is!

Corvettes that were ordered that week should have had a target production period between August 6-10th, but then again, if the dealer did not have the allocation for the constraints, that could change the target production period. Unfortunately, that’s about as specific as I’m able to get without the order number.

I hope this helps answer your question! If we can be of any more help, please let us know!
