Corvettes are Ready for Tomorrow’s ALMS Race in Detroit

As the yellow Compuware C6.R Corvettes tore around the 2.1 mile track this afternoon to qualify for the Detroit Belle Isle Grand Prix, their moves were loud and powerful!  Car #3 driven by the "Two J’s", Jan Magnussen and Johnny O’Connell, gets pole position.  Car #4 in the capable hands of the "Two Ollie’s", Olivier Beretta and Oliver Gavin, follows.

Once again, the spectators were disappointed to see no competition from other marques, but we know that the Corvette Racing Team continues to tweak and improve.  Ultimately, improvements on the track bring improvements to the retail Corvettes.

My photos were taken from Grandstand #2, just north of the finish line, facing Canada to the east, and almost directly across from the paddock area.  Many follow the jump.
