The Mecum 2010 Original Spring Classic Auction, also known as the world’s largest car collector auction, is now being featured on television until Saturday, May 22. The auction, brought to viewers by the Discovery Channel and HD Theater, will feature more than 1,750 collector cars – and one of the most historically significant Corvettes ever built.
Actually, this Saturday from 2 – 3 p.m. EDT, the Discovery Channel will air a one hour special, MECUM AUCTION LIVE. Within this hour, the Harley J. Earl’s 1963 Corvette will be auctioned off.
For those of you who don’t know – Earl J. Harvey was the very first Vice President of Design at General Motors. A one-of-a-kind Corvette was presented to Harvey as a gift of thanks for all his leadership, influence and styling intelligence.
The famous Corvette features a 327 cubic inch engine, 4-speed manual transmission, dual instrument panels and stainless steel side-exit exhausts. Restoration has been done to the interior’s blue custom leather with white trim seating as well as the exterior’s Metallic Blue paint and White trim.
Be sure to watch the Discovery Channel to see how much this baby will go for! Also, for more information about the auction, visit Mecum.com. A picture of the Vette after the jump.
