Now after three years, the Chevrolet Corvette has officially been pronounced as the official sports car of Kentucky!
Though the bill, House Bill 104, was officially signed on April 26, a ceremonial signing with Kentucky Governor Steve Brashear recently took place at the Bowling Green Corvette Assembly Plant.
"As home to the Corvette plant in Bowling Green, Kentuckians have long considered the Corvette to be Kentucky's sports car and a great symbol of Kentucky pride and craftsmanship," Governor Beshear said. "It was with great pleasure that I signed House Bill 104 into law."
So, now it’s official.
And to prove – the act reads:
AN ACT designating the Corvette as the official state sports car of Kentucky.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Kentucky:
SECTION 1. A NEW SECTION OF KRS CHAPTER 2 IS CREATED TO READ AS FOLLOWS:
The Corvette is named and designated the official state sports car of Kentucky.
