Hope Solo Drives in Corvette Pace Car

Hope SoloHope Solo, the name (and woman) that won the hearts of millions during the Women’s World Cup final in Germany, again impressed crowds as she lead the starting field of the NASCAR 2011 Brickyard 400 in a 2011 Chevrolet Corvette Grand Sport Pace Car.

The race took place at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway this past Sunday, July 31. Prior to the event, Solo had commented, “It’s going to be so much fun. The entire world of NASCAR and its people are such a new and excited experience for me.”

Between 100,000 and 150,000 attended the event. Though I’m sure Solo is used to all this attention by now…
