Belle Isle, Detroit was transformed today! Most of those trailers (that I wrote about yesterday) have now been unloaded, and a city of automobiles has spring up, in preparation for the Detroit Grand Prix.
There in the middle of the paddocks was Michael Baughman Racing. And alongside the shiny, clean white trailer stood the #46 Corvette, sponsored by Matick Chevrolet, ready for practice runs tomorrow.
I spoke briefly with Lead Driver Jeff Nowicki, who explained that the car just sits until the practice runs on Friday. Cars competing in the Rolex Series Race practice on Friday from 8:35 - 10:35 AM and from 1:20 - 2:20 PM. Qualifying follows at 5:05 - 5:40 PM.
The final practice runs are Saturday 11:00 - 11:30 AM. And that's it until the race at 5:05.
