Classic 1953 Corvette At Auction with No Reserve

A rare 1953 Corvette will be sold tomorrow at an auction in Lapeer, Michigan.  The "no reserve" auction is being handled by RM Auctions on the grounds of the home of John McMullen, longtime successful Pontiac dealer.

McMullen is drastically trimming his world class collection of some 140 cars to less than a dozen of the world's best automobiles.  The Corvette joins two early Thunderbirds, a 1931 Duesenberg Model J, a 1934 Packard Twelve Convertible Victoria (shown), and many others.

The 9AM auction is open to the public in exchange for the purchase price of the $80 catalogue (which admits two).

What is the value of the 1954 Motorama Corvette? The sister car to the Nomad and the Corvair, the Corvette that determined the very future of the Corvette in 1954, this is the Corvette with the first hardtop ever made for Corvette. The first Corvette ever made with roll up windows, the only 53/54/55 Corvette with exterior door handles and locks, the first Corvette with a glove box in the kick panel and if it ended up being a 1953 Corvette as well. If it were found, and if it were for sale, what is it worth?
