Corvette C7 Rumors Come to Light

Karl StrackeApparently, General Motors had plans in the making to build an aggressive mid-engine for the next-generation Corvette C7 before the automotive world came to a crushing halt... but, those were all RUMORS!

Karl Stracke, GM’s VP of global engineering, recently interviewed with Automotive News and Autoweek addressing the recent false comments.

Right after the Corvette C6 was introduced, people began chit-chatting about what new feature would come equipped in the next-generation Corvette. Such speculation included a monster of a double-clutch transmission for a “mid-engined version of the Corvette” had been around since the mid 1960’s.

But according to Stracke, “There is no mid-engine in the plans.”

Stracke also addressed the rumors regarding a Saab engineering unveiling the idea of a wet-clutch, as well as the potential for a V6 engine in the C8. All FALSE!

He did mention, however, the potential for a hybrid engine in the upcoming sports cars... Interesting.

So, lessons learned, my friends. Don’t believe the rumors!

Please, oh please don't let the corvette look like the crummy looking Cadillac. Get rid of the stupid looking nose enhancement. I don't want my Corvette looking like my grandfather's Cadillac.

I't one thing to use the Corvette's undercarriage, engine... exhaust... don't touch the body, please don't ruin a great looking car...
