2007 Corvette Incentive Update

We all know today is April Fool's Day, but it also marks the beginning of the 2nd Quarter of 2008 for GM, meaning all of the incentive programs have changed.  Here is the latest on what is available on Corvettes nationwide.

Currently there are no discounts on 2008 Corvettes, not surprising given that we are coming into the "Corvette Selling Season" right now.  However, on all remaining 2007 Corvettes we see two different programs:

  • Customer Cash:  This program has been in place for a couple of months now and remains unchanged.  Any 2007 Coupe will receive a $2,000 discount, any 2007 Convertible will receive a $3,000 discount.  Z06's are not discounted.
  • GM Owner Loyalty Program:  Current owners or lessees of 1999 or newer GM cars or trucks will receive an additional $1,000 towards the purchase of a 2007 Corvette Coupe, Convertible, and Z06.
  • GM Lease Pull Ahead Program:  If your GM lease expires before 3/31/09, you can return your current leased GM vehicle and GM will waive 2 current payments when buying or leasing a new 2007 or 2008 Corvette.  (This is down from 6 months of waived payments last month).
If you have any questions about pricing programs, incentives, or rebates... feel free to call or leave us a comment and we'll get back to you to clarify right away.  As always, if you purchase or lease a Corvette from CorvetteBlog, you will receive the GM Supplier Discount. Call or comment for complete details!

New Corvette Incentive Announced

GM LogoBREAKING NEWS!  CorvetteBlog is proud to be the first Corvette-related blog to report the new GM incentive on 2007 Corvettes including Z06's!

The program is based on GM owner loyalty.  If you are owner or lessee of a 1999 or newer GM car, truck or SUV, you qualify for an additional $1,000 off a 2007 Corvette!  All you need to do is have proof of ownership (like a contract or registration).  This incentive program is also transferable within the household, so even if the vehicle isn't in your name but you live at the same address as the owner, you qualify!

The Red Tag Bonus Cash on 2007 Corvettes that was set to expire on Jan 2nd has been carried over until March 3rd.  So assuming you qualify for the incentive, you can now receive up to $3,000 off a 2007 Coupe, $4,000 off a 2007 Convertible with the current programs and for the first time, $1,000 off a 2007 Z06!!

The Loyalty Incentive ends on January 31st!  So take advantage now of the remaining 2007 Corvette inventory.

Lucky for CorvetteBlog readers, we still have 2 2007 Corvettes remaining in our inventory that we will discount with the new programs and ALSO give all of our CorvetteBlog readers the GM Supplier Discount!  Call us now at (888) 875-0728 for more information.  Here are the details on each:

ZR1 Pricing: It's Anyone's Guess

2009 Corvette ZR1A lot of speculation is out there right now about the pricing structure of the new 2009 Corvette ZR1We reported the price is supposedly set at about $100,000.  GM hasn't released any information on the final price, and we don't expect that to come for a while yet.  Some have speculated we could see pricing around $125,000, as well.

The real question becomes: what will dealers charge?  The production will be very limited, we know that.  Based on other vehicles such as limited edition Pace Cars, and the very limited Ron Fellows Edition from last year, dealers were charging over sticker then.  Imagine a vehicle with the raw power and mass-appeal such as the ZR1 being released. Given the expected brutal impact of the recent energy laws out of the U.S. Congress, what might this supercar go for at the beginning of production?

Peter De Lorenzo of AutoExtremist.com recently wrote his prediction of a price approaching $200,000!  We can't imagine the price going that high, but it does spark the question.  We've included Peter's comments after the jump.

We are accepting deposits for 2009 ZR1's now at CorvetteBlog.com, but like other dealers out there, have yet to establish our pricing policy.  If you are interested in learning about a deposit, feel free to give us a call at (888) 875-0728.

Stay tuned to CorvetteBlog.com for complete and breaking information on the 2009 Corvette ZR1, especially pricing details!

2009 ZR1 Priced at $100,000?

2009 Corvette ZR1When I saw these stories run across the wire I was amazed.  Sure, the 2009 Corvette ZR1 will be the fastest car GM has ever built, priced at $100,000.  This comes in below some estimates originally that it may be upwards of $125,000!

The Wall Street Journal reports, "GM is pulling the ZR1 brand out of its recent-history book, borrowing it from a special-edition Corvette that was sold in the 1990s but offered far less power. One of the features that is expected to set the ZR1 apart is carbon-fiber body panels that the company guarantees will last a lifetime. The carbon fiber is lathered with a clear coating that costs about $2,000 a gallon because of a rare additive."

That better be pretty damn rare!  But don't worry Vette lovers, we at CorvetteBlog WILL have allocation of these ZR1's when they become available.  No question about that.  Stay tuned!

3rd Corvette Price Increase Announced

GM LogoNever did we think we'd be writing about a third price increase this year on 2008 Corvettes.  Unfortunately, GM announced today that it is raising prices on a majority of its vehicles, including Corvette Coupes, Convertibles, and now Z06's as well.  In addition to the price increase on the base vehicle prices, they are also increasing the destination charge on Corvettes to $850.

One would think this is pretty counterintuitive given GM's declining sales of Corvettes over the past year, but who ever said that GM was intuitive to begin with?

It is important to note, if you have ordered from CorvetteBlog, you are price protected against the increase.  If you are ordering from another dealer and they have not marked your order as sold or a "SRE" unit (the code for sold vehicle orders) then you are not protected.  These orders are called "TRE" orders, so you may want to check with the dealer who you've ordered your Corvette from to assure you aren't facing the new pricing.

So here's the details on base pricing of each model:

  • Corvette Coupes:  $46,950
  • Corvette Convertibles:  $55,425
  • Corvette Z06s:  $72,125
If you have any questions about your order through CorvetteBlog, feel free to contact us direct at (888) 875-0728.  If you're looking to order a Corvette in the future, deal with someone you can trust:  CorvetteBlog.com.

November Corvette Sales Continue Decline

Corvette Sales DownNovember sales figures are in for the 2008 Chevrolet Corvette and they aren't pretty.  Even as GM raises the price of the coveted Coupes and Convertibles, sales decline.

Here are the figures:

  • November 2007 Sales:  2,438  (-12.1%)
  • November 2006 Sales:  2,773
In fact, as surprising as it may seem, the Corvette has not seen a single month sales increase from 2006 figures since June!  In fact, Calendar year to date figures for the Vette still have the pace 8% off from the same time last year.

One must wonder why GM feels that it needs to increase prices at a time like this, not to mention not including the 08 Vettes in the Red Tag Sale promotion that continues to roll-on to lackluster results.

Corvette Z06 Named Tops in Resale Value

Kelley Blue Book (KBB) announced their 2008 Vehicle Residual Value Analysis.  Kelley is well known for being THE source for vehicle values for dealers and more recently for the public with their great online tools.  Every year they come out with their list of vehicles that retain  their value the best in a number of categories.  The analysis is based on 2008 vehicles only with projected values in five years.

This year, the 2008 Chevrolet Z06 comes in tops in the High Performance Car category.  This means that of all high performance cars out there, the Z06 is projected to retain its value the best.  Great news for Corvette owners looking to sell their Z06 down the line.

Here's what Kelley said about the Z06:  "Replace the standard Corvette's 430-horsepower V8 with a 505-horsepower V8---an engine hand-assembled by a single technician---and you've got what many consider the best of the best in American sports cars. The added power is managed by a reworked suspension that delivers improved handling with very little sacrifice in highway ride comfort."

For a list of all of the vehicles and categories, click on the link below.  Also, don't forget our special Z06 sale going on now at Corvette Blog!

Terry Michaelis Shares Tips on Buying a Pre-Owned Corvette

We will soon be in the midst of the winter automobile auction season, and Corvettes available for purchase will be in abundance.  Writing in a recent newsletter from ProTeam Corvettes, Terry Michaelis makes these recommendations if you are considering purchase of a Corvette at any of the upcoming auctions:

(1)  Prior to purchasing any Corvette, create a pre-purchase inspection list, and make sure to include VIN tags and attachments; a title matching the VIN tag; an original body/trim tag; the Corvette's body and frame; engine stamp, casting numbers and dates; and documentation.  This small step goes a long way to making your Corvette buying experience seamless.

(2)  Buy the best Corvette you can afford today, because the Corvette you buy is the Corvette you'll have, or want to sell some day.

(3)  Buy cosmetics - buy paint and chrome, unless you have a shop and knowledge to control your costs.

2008 Corvette Price Increase Announced

Keith Martin's Corvette Magazine Magazine

Keith Martin's Corvette Market Magazine has been officially launched.  Mike Yager is one of the "movers and shakers" interviewed in the inaugural (Fall 2007) issue, and he made sure the magazine was given significant visibility at last weekend's Corvette Funfest on the premises of Mid America Motorworks in Effingham, Illinois.

Mike introduced Keith next to his beautiful Chevrolet bowtie-shaped swimming pool (see photo past the jump), and then the whole Yager family joined Keith in a ribbon cutting ceremony as Corvette industry leaders gave applause.

Keith seeks to fill a vacuum in the sales and purchase process of Corvettes by providing current market trends, auction results, advice on which models to buy-sell-hold, and advice from movers and shakers in the industry.  Given the explosive growth in pre-owned Corvette sales and the success of the parent magazine, Sports Car Market, a magazine devoted to Corvettes was deemed merited.  A link to this resource will be added to the home page of CorvetteBlog.

Awesome 2006 Corvette Incentives Announced!

Chevrolet has announced the best incentives to date on the remaining 404 2006 Corvettes around the country.  From now until July 9th, buyers will receive 0% financing for up to 60 months AND a $1,000 Rebate

We haven't seen 0% for 60 months for a long time.  Of course you can still opt for 0% for 36 and 48 months as well.  Heck, you can even finance for 72 months at 1.9% and still take the $1,000 dollars and run.  These rates are of course, with approved credit.

Like we said, reportedly there are only 404 '06 Corvettes remaining in dealer inventories!  Unfortunately (or fortunately you could say), we have been sold out for nearly 4 months.  If you do happen to grab one of these awesome deals, snap a photo and email us.  We'll post a story about you.

Official announcement after the jump.

New Corvette Incentive Announced

Chevrolet has just announced the new Incentives running from today, until March 14th, 2007.  The Corvette picks up $250 for any GM Employee, Supplier, Dealership Employee, or anyone qualifying for GM Supplier for Friends.  This Bonus Cash is good towards either a purchase or a lease of any 2006 or 2007 Corvette (not the Z06).

GM plans to launch their big advertising push for March Madness at the end of the first quarter.  No details yet on any incentives the Corvette may receive, but in the meantime for those of you qualifying for GMS or GSU, now is a great time to act with an extra $250 on the table.

Also to note, for any dealers that have Instant Value Certificates left over from the Presidents Day Incentive Program, they do not qualify with this incentive.  As always, you can email us with any incentive questions, or comment below and we'll research it for you!

Corvette one of the Most Requested Leases

Requesting a CorvetteLeasing is a big share of the market here in Detroit, and as it continues to catch steam in the rest of the country Autoremarketer has come up with their list of most requested vehicle leases posted on LeaseCompare.com.

For new car leases, our own Chevrolet Corvette tops the list followed by the Toyota Camry and Audi A4.  I was surprised that an Audi would rise to number three, but there's no question who takes the cake in this category.

For used car leases inquiries, the list topped out with the Porsche 911, the BMW M3, followed by the Corvette.  I'm curious as to how many people are leasing used Corvettes?  Are you?

O% Financing Available on New Corvettes in Some States

0% financing is being offered on the purchase of 2006 and 2007 Corvettes (not Z06) to well qualified buyers in a number of states.  Residents of Illinois, Iowa, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota, Wisconsin, and a portion of Indiana are being encouraged to snap up new Vettes ahead of the season with 0% financing for up to 36 months, available only through February 28.

Residents of Michigan and parts of Ohio, Pennsylvania, New York, West Virginia, and Indiana are being offered $500 Bonus Cash instead.

If you live in one of these areas, but do not have access to a wide range of inventory, you still get the incentive even though you purchase from a dealer in another state!  Many dealerships with larger inventories (such as our own) are more than happy to ship vehicles across state lines.

See or call dealer for details.

If you qualify for the GM Employee Price, you can get as much as over $11,500 on select Corvettes at select Corvette dealers.  But don't wait.  He who hesitates is lost.

Used Corvette Being Sold on eBay with No Reserve

A 1975 Corvette is being sold Without Reserve on eBay.

Sure, it needs work, but how often does one get the opportunity to bid on a Corvette from the comfort of one's own home?  OK, I just took another look, and it needs a lot of work.  It's a project car in the most accurate sense of the term.

Purchaser must pick up the car from its current home in Florida within thirty days.  The auction ends on January 8, just a bit over three days from right now!  Current bid is just $1000.
