September’s print issue of Motor Trend (which hit the desk this morning) presents MT’s first test of the new NPP-equipped 2008 Corvette. Motor Trend found that the NPP-coded dual-mode performance exhaust system reduces back-pressure by a whopping 80% at high engine speeds, resulting in six additional horses and an improvement of four pound-feet.
The Vette was able to scoot to 60mph in just 4.1 seconds. The quarter mile was accomplished in just 12.5 seconds at 115 mph. These numbers are similar to the the results of their testing of the 2002 Corvette Z06!
Also impressive to MT were the refinements to the gearbox, in that they facilitate smooth quick shifts every time.
In their summary, MT suggests that this level of performance is available (incredibly) for as little as $48,885! As examples of this aggressive pricing, our dealership currently has two NPP-equipped 2008 Corvettes in stock. The Victory Red 3LT Z51 Coupe (Stock Number QC0050) with six-speed manual and NPP lists for $57,185, but the Black 1LT Coupe (Stock Number QC0049) with six-speed paddle-shift automatic and NPP is just $50,485. What’s more, dealerships like ours recognize both GM Employee and Supplier Discounts. (Contact us for details).
