No Routine Summer Shutdown for Corvette Assembly Plant

General Motors normally shuts down select assembly plants during the quiet summer months. This year, however, GM is finding itself trying to keep on top of customer demand. For that reason, the Bowling Green Assembly Plant is one of nine plants that will remain open all summer.

The plant will disregard its normally shutdown period during the first two weeks of July. Instead due to low inventories, the plant will remain open to continue building Corvettes.

Interesting enough. There are still 4,850 Corvettes sitting on dealership lots to date. This could be an indication that the demand for 2011 Corvette orders is too high! You never know…
