Inside the Bowling Green Corvette Assembly Plant

The Bowling Green Assembly Plant, home to the Corvette, was featured in an episode of National Geographic Channel‘s "Ultimate Factories" series.  The emphasis in the episode is on the production of the Z06.

It shows Wil Cooksey as the Plant Manager, a job he vacated three years ago, so we know the show is a little dated.  The film shows production of the space frame at Dana Technologies‘ Higginsville facility, and Z06 engine production in the Performance Build Center in Wixom, Michigan.

One of the highlights in this 46 minute presentation is the best explanation of the Dry Sump oiling process I have ever seen.  Kevin Moore is host.  Enjoy this video here!

Thanks to Michael Sweetland of Louisiana for tuning us in to this informative show.
