This past spring, Mark Reuss, President, GM North America, was interviewed by John McElroy of Autoline Detroit. In that interview, he made these statements:
"I think you’re going to see something on Corvette that will take the design of the car to a completely different place.
"I think you’re going to see something on Corvette, on a performance basis, that is quite different from what anybody else is doing, no matter what the price point is.
"I think you’re going to see a portfolio of Corvettes that may help all different kinds of buyers with different means buy a Corvette.
"I’ll leave it at that, but I think it’s pretty exciting."
Reuss was then asked if we might see an alternative powertrain in the C7, and his response was: "I think we could!" Wow!
CorvetteBlog interprets these comments to mean that we will see some serious differences in the next generation Corvette, including vehicles at a range of price points (though nothing really inexpensive, of course), with distinctly different designs, and even with alternative powertrains. So, hold onto your seats! This will be an exciting ride!
