The Woodward Dream Cruise is visited by classic car lovers from all over the globe. I don't believe I have ever seen a list of all the countries represented by visitors here, but I am sure that the list would be impressive. I know they come because so many have been quoted over the years in the press, when they have mentioned their homelands.
This year, I was pleased to meet Sven-Erik and his friend, Kenneth Rooslund. They are businessmen from Falun, Sweden, and they had traveled here with Sven-Erik's Silver 1968 Corvette. It was shipped to New York City, where they recovered it, and then drove to the Detroit area. While here, these men visited many of the same events I covered this month: Corvettes on Woodward, GM's Heritage Center, the Lingenfelter Collection, GM's Performance Build Center, etc. The Detroit News also did a story on them.
Last week, I saw them at Corvettes at Carlisle, and this week, they are at the National Corvette Museum, where the car will be put on display until next year.
Gentlemen, it has been our pleasure to meet you. We are so pleased you have enjoyed sharing in our excitement for the Corvette hobby! We will look forward to your return next summer.
